| We found out we were having baby #2 on September 6, 2001. I had taken a home pregnancy test during my lunch hour at work. I had taken my temperature that morning. (We were charting my temps and actually *trying* to conceive.) My temp lead me to believe that I was pregnant. We had been trying for four months. |
| Our first appointment was on November 5, 2001 with Dr. Davis. My sister Missy came with me so I could bring William. I knew that I was far enough along that we would be able to hear the heartbeat and I wanted William to hear it. My blood pressure and pulse were all normal. The dr. said everything looked fine. I think I've already gained 4 pounds. We will be taking the same course of action as we did with William. I will have the Triple Marker Screening the next time I go (I think) which is December 7th. We did hear the heartbeat, but it was faint and hard to find. We didn't get to hear it long enough for the Doppler to register how fast it was. William was excited, but I really don't think he heard the baby's heartbeat. I know he heard mine. According to http://www.amazingpregnancy.com, I'm 14 weeks. |
| I went in on November 20th and saw Dr.
Naroozi. I wasn't feeling well...sounded like a seal barking. Blood pressure and all was good.
Weight was still the same as last time. Baby's heartbeat was 130. They didn't say what I had, but
gave me a prescription for a 250MG Z-Pack. William DEFINITELY heard the baby's heartbeat this
time! He had been walking around, talking and coloring...until he heard the heartbeat. He
completely stopped everything he was doing and just stared. It was so cute!
I also had the blood work done for the triple marker screening. The Dr said they would call if there was something I needed to know. My next appointment is on December 17th with Dr. Naroosi. |
| November 26, 2001. I'm pretty sure that I felt the baby move! It's so hard to tell...I'm 17 weeks. |
| Devember 17, 2001. I felt the baby kick from the outside
tonight! I tried to get William to feel it, but he couldn't wait that long! The baby does just like
he did...when someone puts their hand on my tummy, the baby quits moving! LOL! Stinker.
I received the results of my triple marker screening today. We have to go in for an ultrasound because the lab flagged me as being high risk for one of the things they 'screen' for. |
| Our 2nd Appt was on December 17 with Dr. Naroozi. My blood pressure was good. Weight was still the same as last time. The baby's heartbeat was 146. I measured 17 centimeters. I'm 20 weeks. |
| December 23, 2002. Ultrasound Pic! :-) Here is our perfectly healthy little baby...GIRL! |
| Our 3rd appt was on January 14th. The dr was running an hour
and 15 mintues behind so I wound up seeing the nurse practitioner instead. Blood pressure is fine.
Gained 6 pounds. I'm 24 weeks and measuring 24 centimeters and will be having another
ultrasound/sonogram later because my placenta is low. I don't have TRUE placenta previa though.
My next appt is February 13th with Dr. Sakbun. I have my glucose test done that day also. ICK!
William is completely potty trained! Yeah! |
| January 16, 2002. Called the dr. Everyone seems so concerned about me picking up Will...to the point of almost ticking me off. I kept trying to tell people, that if there was something I shouldn't be doing, they would tell me. Well, I was right. If it had been a problem, THEY WOULD HAVE CALLED ME! I can pick him up as much as I want...I just can't start doing anything new...like picking up printers at work. The deal is...my body is used to picking him up because I do it all the time. |
| February 8, 2002. Just doing a weight check. I'm up 14 pounds now according to my scales at home. |
| Our 4th appt was on February 13th with Dr. Sakbun. Gained 7
in the past month. Their records indicate that I'm up 13.5 pounds. My blood pressure was fine. I
had my glucose test this morning. Will get the results next time I go unless I flunked the test.
I went ahead and set up my appointments for the remainder of my pregnancy also since I work the nice little 4 on 4 off deal...makes it hard to schedule. |
| February 16, 2002 - William was doing the cutest thing...I was sitting in the recliner, talking to Michelle (our daycare provider) on the phone and William comes up to me and says Kiss the Baby! He then lifts up my shirt and kisses my tummy a few times! He is just toooooo precious! |
| Our 5th appt was on March 1st with Dr. Sakbun. Already going every 2 weeks! I'm 30 weeks. It just seems so unreal. He was a little late because he had been at the hospital...already delivered 2 babies! My blood pressure was fine at 112/60. I've gained 5 more pounds so I'm up 19. My protein and sugar were fine. The baby's heartbeat was running around 148-150. And I got the results of my glucose test from last time. It was 123 and it only needed to be 135 or under. |
| March 3rd. I got sicker than sick and lost 7 pounds... |
| Our 6th appt was on March 11th with Dr.Naroozi. My protein/sugar was fine. My blood pressure was good (110/60). I've gained 1 pound since last time so I'm up a total of 20 pounds. The heartbeat was around 153. I had my last set of bloodwork done also. He said it was to check for anemia. |
| My appointment on March 28th was postponed. I guess the dr decided to take the day off? |
| March 29th. Weighed myself, up another 3 pounds...23 pounds so far. Only 5 weeks left! |
| April 1. Noticed swollen ankles, but still not as bad as what they were with William. I did stop wearing my ruby ring though. Wouldn't want it to get stuck. |
| Our 7th appt was on April 4th with Dr. Sakbun. I gained 3
pounds over the last 3 weeks. So, I'm up 23 so far. Not bad considering I'm almost 36 weeks along
and by this time with William, I weighed about 7 pounds more. My blood pressure was good (120/70 -
I had just drank a coke about an hour before).
We had a sonogram. She is measuring smaller than William did in his sonogram pictures. She was estimated to weigh 6 pounds 3 ounces. William weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces in his. Her fetal age is a week older too. The doctor is concerned about the size of her stomach and her leg bone (femur). So we are going to IU Med Center to have that checked out. I start going every week! I'm skipping the week of the 22nd though because of how my work shedule works out. |
| Our 8th appointment was April 11th with Dr. Hammons. My blood pressure was normal at 110/72. I'm up another 2 pounds making me up 25 altogether. The baby's heart beat was 155. That was pretty much it. I was expecting to be checked for dilation or something, but I guess that will be next time?? |
| April 14. Had to stop wearing my wedding rings. Hands are now swelling, but still not as bad as they were with William! |
| Our appointment at the IU Med Center is April 15th. We have
a counceling session at 11:30 and an ultrasound at 1:15.
I felt the counseling session was a waste of time. The councelor spent more time talking about cystics fibrosis than the reason we were up there. We spent about 45 minutes with her. Then we grabbed a quick bite to eat in the cafeteria and headed back upstairs for our ultrasound. Our ultrasound lasted between 30 and 45 minutes. The tech showed us that Grace has a full head of hair. :) The film she printed out was about 6 foot long. She measured just about everything! After she was finished, the dr came in and basically did another ultrasound, but didn't do all the measurements. She told us that all of the measurements they took were within the normal range. (basically, Grace is fine!) :-) I will be posting some ultrasound pics as soon as I get a chance to scan them. We have a really good shot of her nose and mouth. And we have a shot of her 'butterfly' showing that she is a girl. Here's a shot of Grace's face that the dr at IU Med Center took. It looked much more clear on the equipment. |
| Our 9th appointment was on April 19th with Dr. LaLouche. My blood pressure was 124/80. I gained 4 pounds which takes me up to 29 pounds gained so far at 37 weeks 4 days. The baby's heartbeat was 151. And I've dilated a centimeter! :-) |
| April 20th. Went shopping in Greenwood, Avon and Plainfield. Felt contractions most of the day, but once I stopped walking...I stopped contracting. What a bummer! I believe I started losing my mucus plug too! |
| Our 10th appointment was on April 26th. I was supposed to see Dr. LaLouche, but he wasn't feeling well so I say Dr. Naroosi. I tried talking him into sending me to the hospital, but he said no. LOL! My blood pressure was normal at 122/80. I lost 1 1/2 pounds since my last appointment. I think that takes me down to 27 1/2 pounds gained so far...I think. Her heartbeat was 153. |
| Our 11th appointment was April 29th with Dr. Sakbun. I haven't gained or lost any weight, so I'm still holding at 27 1/2 pounds. My blood pressure was 120/64. Her heartbeat was between 149 and 153. I have dilated another centimeter! Only 8 more to go. He scrapped the 'membranes' to try and get my labor started. Let me tell you...that HURT! I don't remember it hurting like that with William. |
| The 12th appointment was on May 6th with Dr. LaLouche. I gained a total of 33 pounds. Everything was fine. He told me that if I didn't have her by Friday to come in and see him again. He said he would schedule me to be induced over the weekend since he was on call all weekend. |
| The 13th appointment was on May 10th with Dr. LaLouche. I gained a total of 33 pounds. Everything was fine. When I went into the office that morning, he already had 5 women in labor at the hospital and he was running about 2 hours behind. My appointment was at 11:30 and I finally got to see him at 3:30. Needless to say with as busy as they already were, he couldn't schedule me to be induced, but he was certain I would have her over the weekend. He told me that if I had 6 contractions in an hour to come on in. |
