Augst 3
We slept in until 9:45. The kids were up earlier than that. I packed up the camper. Here it is 4pm and we haven't left
yet. Vince is out working on the Jeep. He has a chiropractor appt at 5pm...Guess I need to send one of the kids out to let
him know. Sent William...don't know when we will make it up there. Graham is out helping Vince, he got rained out.
We rescheduled Vince's chiropractor appointment. There was no way he was going to make it there on time. We got to Fowler and set up around 7pm. We drove through a storm to get here. It started raining when we left our house and flat out poured most of the drive up. After we got set up, we went to Pimento for diesel. We also got their Noble Roman's pizza pack for dinner. It was a large pizza, double order of breadsticks and a 2 liter of pop for $13. Can't beat that! Then Vince ran home for stuff we forgot....I don't remember exactly what time we went to bed, but it was around 10pm.
August4
We were woken around 7:30 by a very noisy vehicle that ran for at a 1/2 an hour. Vince finally gave up and got up
around 8 by that time, both kids were in bed with us. He went out and started a fire. I finally got up around 8:30 or 9
...can't sleep with those 2 in the camper. I fixed chocolate chip pancakes and then hit the shower. When I got back, I put
up the screen tent on a site for Vic & Carla. Then I laid out the carpet. Vince went to a viewing for another Iron Worker's
son and then went to the chiropractor. The kids & I rode our bikes to the playground. We stayed there about 1/2 an hour.
Then we came back and shared some chips. They were playing with Rescue Heroes and Grace's doll house at noon. I was sitting
there enjoying the relative quiet and waiting for Vince to get back.
The weather today was just gorgeous. It wasn't too hot, wasn't too breezy, wasn't humid or muggy, it was great!
Vince got back around 12:30. I set up the tripod and grilled hamburgers. He and Grace laid down @ 1:30. William & I rode our bikes to the playground and took pictures of the Pioneer Village. There was a Cochran Cabin! Would be interesting to see if they are related to me.... Then we came back and played Dot to Dot and Tic Tac Toe. We came in and woke Vince & Grace up at 3:30. We went to the beach at 4 to go swimming. They took a break right as we walked up. We swam for almost an hour and then came back and took showers. Man did that water stink like a fish bowl in dire need of cleaning!
Vic & Carla got here around 7pm. I had grilled hamburgers again. Vince cooked the brats and grillers. The hamburgers were done by the time they got there. The other was still on the grill. Carla and I walked the kids to the park. After we got back from there, we hung out and talked. Bill and Sandy brought Jacob up. He has to leave Survivor camp because his feet got cut really bad by the shale. They got there around 9:30pm and stayed about a 1/2 an hour. I was laying the kids down when they left. We went to bed around 10:30. Someone was riding either dirt bikes or 4-wheelers or something near the park so we didn't fall asleep until the air conditioning kicked on and drowned them out.
August 5
I woke up early and realized that I hadn't heard Vic leave for work. He had to leave at 7 to go to work. Looked at the
clock...6:53. Our alarm went off at 7:15. I hit the snooze and catnapped. Grace tried to get in bed with us at 7, but I
sent her back to her bed. I got up when the alarm went off the 2nd time and made pancakes. The kids didn't get up until
7:50 and we needed to leave by 8:15...so we took their pancakes with us. We got to our house around 8:40 and dropped the
kids off with my mom. Vince and I went to the soccer field for a work day. We got almost 1/2 of our fee back. We cashed
that and then went to the Dollar Store and spent almost all of it. They have reversible Jerzee shorts for $4.50 so we got
3 pair for Vince. Then we went to the house. Vince took a shower and then we headed back.
Carla and I took the kids to the playground, but it was HOT! We had an afternoon treat of ice cream. @ 4:30 we took them swimming. When they took a break (@5), we came back. The kids tried to fish, but didn't catch anything, but weeds and trees. When it cooled off, I went and took a shower. We had a huge spread for supper...bbq chicken, macaroni and cheese, backed beans, potatoes and cottage cheese.
Vince took the hook off William's fishing pole so he could practice casting without getting hooked or hooking someone else. He had a blast doing that, but kept getting his line wrapped around the pole/bobber. They played with glow sticks tonight and last night. You would think they never get anything they way they act. The kids were in dire need of a bath so I brought then in around 10 and gave them baths and put them to bed. They were out in 15 minutes. It looked like Carla had went in for the night so I came in to write today's journal entry. I hopped into bed at 10:43. I was worn out.
August 6
We got up at 9. Carla brought biscuits over and I baked them while she baked another batch and made gravy. I started
picking up the camper while the biscuits were baking. I had our room and the kid's room done by the the breakfast was ready.
I took the kids to the park one last time, but we didn't stay long. It was already getting hot. Graham and Marcy came up after church and brought dinner with them...all we had to do was grill it. So we had a nice spread for lunch. While dinner was grilling, Carla and I took the screen tent down. Vic timed us...6 minutes to take it down and get it in the bag. Sa-weet! I love that tent! I also swept the carpet and folded it up. Vince put it where it belongs. He took down the awning. We pulled out between 2 and 3pm. I can't remember.... When we got home, we parked the camper and plugged in the electric. I turned the air on and did the dishes that needed to be done in the camper. No sense in taking it inside.... I took a few other things in the house as well. Mainly anything that could melt and the stuff to do my hair.
