Fowler Park, Terre Haute, Indiana

September 30 - October 3, 2004

This weekend is Pioneer Days at Fowler Park. They have a little village near the campsites. There is a covered bridge that separates the two areas.

We actually came up early this time. We brought the camper up on Thursday evening. Once we got it set up, we headed to church. After church, we went back to Fowler and stayed the night. We were the only ones to stay Thursday. Everyone else came up Friday evening.

The Campers this time: Larry, Beth & kids, Vic, Carla & kids, Randy, Deb & kids and of course...us.

Friday, Vince and I had a meeting in Linton to see about re-financing our house. Turns out...they don't do 'manufactured' homes anymore. Supposively, no place does...Funny...none of those businesses are closing down... so that was a wasted trip home. GRRR! We get back to the campsite at about the same time as Vic & Carla. Friday night was spent eating, talking and watching the kids play.

Saturday, (this was another over-booked weekend). We got up and ate breakfast (chocolate chip pancakes!) and went outside for a little bit. I felt like I had no sooner gotten outside before I had to go back in to make green bean caserole for a family reunion that we had to be at at noon. We get that cooked and head out.

We got back around 3. I walked in the camper to check on the oven and it was still warm?! I went out to tell Vince when I hear him telling Randy that I had left the oven on...for THREE HOURS! Praise God the camper didn't burn down! Think the insurance would have covered it? After I get over the shock of what I did, Vince, Grace & I headed over to Pioneer Days with a few others. William didn't want to go so I left him in Randy's capable hands. :-) And William behaved himself!

Grace got a little cloth doll like the ones pioneer girls would have played with. Vince and I made William a jump rope that the pioneer kids would have played with. We wound up having to take it away from him and Ary because they were playing cowbow and roping each other around the neck.

William pretty much rode his bike all weekend. Grace played with her Baby Carla doll that we got her from the Family Dollar store when we went to West Boggs.

I had to work Sunday so I decided to take a shower Saturday night. Guess what? I grey water tank was almost full so I had to go to the bathhouse. It was 40 degrees or under that night...BRRRRR! We have since bought us a tote n stor to drain our grey water into so we can dump it whenever we need to and not have to move the camper.

Sunday, it was back to work for me. Vince & Grace visited the village again while William played with Tyler. Then they brought the camper home.

I forgot to bring my camera with me this time so no pictures.
